Greetings shooters!
I hope everyone is looking forward to the next few months of our shooting season as much as I am! From now until our State Shoot, there is a registered shoot somewhere in the state every weekend. The full menu of shoots can be accessed on the FTA at floridatrap.com. Notable shoots include the 20/20,000, the Hall of Fame, Silver Dollar Open, Bill Jacobson Memorial, Southern Grand, and Florida State Shoot that are all held at Silver Dollar. In addition to those Robinson Ranch will be holding their annual Handicap Challenge.
I want to make sure that everyone is aware to the change in format to our Hall of Fame shoot this year. The shoot itself will run largely as normally scheduled, but the dinner has been tentatively rescheduled to the Friday of our State Shoot due to COVID restrictions. This year’s inductee is former FTA President Joe Loitz. Make sure to congratulate him!
As a reminder, the ATA Gun Club Fund Grant can be applied for by any club that is looking to make repairs or upgrades to their facilities. All that is required is to fill out the application which is located on on shootata.com. If anyone needs help filling out the application, please contact me. The deadline for submitting the application is July 1st so do not delay!
In closing, I hope that everyone is staying safe and sane during these unprecedented times. The light at the end of the tunnel is growing larger by the day so hang in there! As always, I can be reached at trh.trap@gmail.com.
Until then, shoot straight!
Thomas Harrington
ATA Delegate
Due to limited shooting opportunities in 2020,
the look back period for minimum target requirements in the 2021 Satellite Grands has been extended back to September 1, 2018 to the date of classification for the shoot.
If you have already pre-squadded for the Spring Grand American and/or the Southern Grand American, please double check your yardage, as it may have changed due to the extended look back period. |
