Club News from Amelia Shooting Sports, Markham Park and Palm Beach Sporting Complex
Message from Amelia Shooting Sports :
A PERSONAL THANK YOU
TO ALL WHO HAVE COME TO THE CLUB OR
SUPPORTED US WITH THE PURCHASE OF A GIFT CERTIFICATE!
We have had great turnouts and appreciate everyone’s mindfulness of the CoronaVirus restrictions we have implemented.
I especially appreciate all of you who have verbally shown your support, thanked us for being open, understand the difficult circumstances we are all in, and who “get it” that there are complications to manage for any business opening or re-opening in this day and time.
There are a lot of moving parts at a Shotgun Sport facility…. and, after being closed for 6 weeks, there were a few mechanical/technical issues that needed to be addressed on the re-opening day. But all were handled beautifully by Charlie, and we were back on track in full operating order by the following day!
{{{ other than the typical issues one would expect when a business’ functioning is based on 26,000 Loaded Clay Targets, 66 Trap Machines, 86 Batteries, 84 Solar Panels, 22 Remote Controls, 21 Computer Card Readers, 5 Wireless Call Speakers, 10 Golf Carts, and a Pickle! }}}
HUGE THANKS to Kitty, Charle, Anna, and Colton! Together, we got down and dirty, and worked our butts off to make the club a spectacular place for you to come burn off some steam, get fresh air, and have fun!
And a BIG THANKS to Charlie of ProMatic… who came up here and spent 2 FULL DAYS with my son, Charlie, and Colton… servicing, cleaning, tweaking, and calibrating every singe trap machine on property!!

Message from Markham Park :
Markham will open on Thursday May 21st for Trap, Skeet, Five-Stand, Rifle, and Pistol. There will be some restrictions:
One person allowed in the clubhouse buying a practice ticket at a time. You will be met at the door and walked to the counter to buy your ticket.
Bathrooms are closed at the Trap and Skeet clubhouse. They will be open at the Rifle and Pistol range. The porta-potty that was on the sporting clays course will be brought out and will be available.
Squadding for everything will be at tables near the clubhouse. You will squad one round at a time then return to the appropriate table to squad again.
No seating will be available. Bring a lawn chair! The clubhouse and the porch are closed. The picnic tables will not be available for seating. Obviously no gathering in groups.
Masks must be worn everywhere except when you are shooting. Skeet shooters will have to keep social distancing between stations or will have to put their masks back on if they are going to socialize between stations.
Five-stand is open Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. They will be open Friday this week, but closed like normal summer hours. Normal days, nights, and times will apply starting next week. They are closed on Memorial Day.
The park does not open the gates until 8:00 AM.
Sporting Clays will resume at a later date.
Hope this finds you well and safe,
Joe Loitz
Secretary Markham Skeet, Trap, & Sporting Clays
