At this time ,the Daytona Beach Gun Club was considered one of the loveliest gun clubs in the world. Every modern convenience for trap-shooting had been installed. the location is just west of the municipal airport, giving a clear background with nothing to interfere for over a mile.

 This meet was most successful and there were many high scores. A gold watch was presented to Tom Deen by Dr.J.W.Hayes at a testimonial dinner. The watch was a gift to Mr. Deen for his tireless efforts in making this club what it is and his work to promote shooting in Florida.

During world war 2 many trapshooters in the service were stationed outside of their states. Florida realizing that there were many trapshooters stationed within Florida; the state decided to hold a “States Tournament”, where as shooters from various states were represented. On the first day  100 - 16 yard targets was the main event. On the second day 25 pairs of doubles and 100 hundred  handicap comprised the major portion of the program. The third day there was a 100 target  16 yard event. At the annual Florida meeting it was unanimously agreed to support the A.T.A.'s plan to hold a Grand American Tournament this year.

A number of service men were present at this shoot. Among shooters was Mrs. Lela Hall, the top woman trapshooter - she did not compete. Mrs. J.C.Ellis was the All Florida State Champion for 4 years. The widely known pro. Art Cuscaden, who had not missed a shoot in 25 years, was not present because of an auto accident.
